In less than 2 weeks (July 20) is the 3rd anniversary of my becoming a BF member. I'd like to mark the occasion with a giveaway, but I'm going to switch things up a bit.

Usually, the person running a GAW decides what knife (or knives) will be awarded to a randomly selected entrant, and entrants declare their intention to be considered for a chance to win the GAW knife.

This GAW will be more like a "take away". Entrants will declare what knife of mine they'd like me to give to them, and I'll give the requested knife to a randomly chosen winner!

Easy idea, and here are the details. To enter the GAW, you should copy a photo of my knife in which you're interested from an old post of mine (or give a very detailed description of the knife you have in mind), and describe why the knife appeals to you. The number of the post in this thread containing your first entry will be your number for the random drawing. Only one entry per person, but you may edit your post if you find one of my knives you like better than the one(s) you've previously selected.

Not every knife of mine is eligible. In particular, knives I've won in GAWs or received as gifts are NOT eligible; usually when I post a pic of a knife that's a gift, I'll parenthetically thank the donor, especially if the post is in the "What Are You Totin' Today" thread. Neither my Spanish knives nor my stag knives are eligible for choice by entrants in this GAW. I'll try to monitor this thread frequently, and contact entrants if they've selected knives that are not "up for grabs". (Basically, any of my knives that I can easily replace are eligible, but not ones I consider virtually irreplaceable due to sentimental reasons.)

All of my knives have appeared in the "Totin' Today" thread at some point, most have appeared in the "Your Newest Addition" thread, and, given the brands I usually buy, many have appeared in the "Rough Riders and Related Slipjoints" thread. The GAW will involve some effort on your part to decide on and locate the knife you'd like to take from me, but it will be fun - trust me! :D

I'll randomly draw the winner(s) the evening of July 20. If there are at least 20 entrants, I'll select 2 winners; if at least 30 entrants, I'll select 3 winners; and so on. Best wishes, happy hunting, and feel free to "rob me blind"!;)

I'm not in, because I wouldn't feel right taking one of your knives that you hadn't picked to give. That's just me. Plus I have been pretty lucky this year.

But I do love to participate, and so I figured I would go ahead and burn the first response so no one else has to.

I'm not in. But I wanted to thank you for being here and being part of what makes this community feel so comfortable.

Good luck to the entrants, and thanks for doing this.

Man what a cool idea!

*Edit* my entry is withdrawn, because I was so intrigued by the Rough Rider Half Hawk that I decided to buy one when I happened to stop by SMKW today. Will post a picture later.

I know when I do a GAW I like people to play, so I will enter for a knife that you posted in the flea market find thread that caught my eye- a Richards pipe cleaner knife! I noticed it because I am a collector of Sheffield knives in general and enjoy multi bladed and unique knives especially. This is your picture that I pilfered from that thread:

Thanks for hosting an interesting and different type of give away!

This is such an awesome idea for a giveaway, and I'd like to thank you for your generosity as well as congratulate you on your 3 year anniversary here.
If I was to win this giveaway the knife of yours that I'd love to have is this cv chesnut bone case peanut.

Case chestnut jigged bone CV:

I've started to like the peanut pattern and the imperial I have, but have yet to own a case peanut or any cv case knife for that matter.

Edited, because the knife I mentioned wasn't posted by you.

Congrats on the anniversary! What a good place to be! It seems weird, borderline rude to be asking for specific knife to potentially "steal" from you. But, I'm not one to pass up on the opportunity for a knife. So, if I had to pick, I noticed a little while back you posted a Marbles Ram Horn Pruner. That one caught my interest because of the fact that it's "ram horn", I've never had a pruner, and it's not a "bank buster". Thanks for the opportunity, congrats! And good luck to all.

I found this in one of your posts. What a prize it would be.

Very generous with your knives and the odds.
This may become an entry if I'm up to the task.

That wasn't so hard. This is an entry.
Thanks for the chance.

Here is my entry!

Besides my canoes, I picked up some other Rough Rider models in the same order, and should post them here to "record them for posterity".

That 3 years has gone fast GT, and you have made many fine contributions to this forum my friend :) Congratulations on the forthcoming milestone

Not an entry please, just wanted to say thanks for everything you've brought to this place, and to wish everyone good luck

GT, this is very kind of you. Love your posts. Here's one that caught my eye recently.I don't know anything about it, so let me know if it's off-limits.
Thanks!
Edit: I like it because of the clean lines, and exotic look, white bone and braid threaded bolsters and center band.

Congrats on the 3 year anniversary and thank you for the very nice giveaway! Not an entry though since I already helped myself to one of your knives when you left your doors unlocked. ;) :)

You've posted so many interesting knives that I can't resist participating! Here's the one I would most enjoy: your RR Improved Muskrat. What makes it interesting to me is: 1. I don't have anything like it, and 2. The design of the two blades. a. On the left is, I believe, a California clip, which I think is a particularly beautiful design. b. On the right, am I correct in calling that a wharncliffe? I don't have any blades like that and would like to try it out. Thanks for the opportunity to participate and for your generosity.

GT, congrats on your anniversary! Not an entry, but very original of you.

Thanks for using the first response, abbydaddy! ;)
Thanks for the well-wishes, NJBillK. :) If the roles were reversed, I'd be all over that Winchester sowbelly I recently saw that you got!! :D:thumbsup:
Thanks for the kind words, Jeff & Jack & Jake! Jake, you'd have never made it out of the house unharmed if our toy poodle hadn't gone blind recently!:p:rolleyes:
If any of you change your mind, feel free to edit in a knife!

Man what a cool idea! I'll be happy to play (doubt you would have offered this if you weren't happy to do it), gimme a little time to scope your blades.

*Edit* Okay. I want to enter this knife if it meets the criteria, the Schrade 93OT. My buddy Patrick, aka huntinfishin, always raves about USA Schrades, so I'd be game to check one out.
Thanks for entering, traumkommode. I sent you a "conversation" about your knife choice.

This is such an awesome idea for a giveaway, and I'd like to thank you for your generosity as well as congratulate you on your 3 year anniversary here.
If I was to win this giveaway the knife of yours that I'd love to have is that little USA white handled key chain slipjoint with the clip blade you posted in a thread about small knives which I couldn't find.
You said you don't carry it, and to mee it seemed like something I could always have on me that would truthfully be enough to handle most if not all of my edc tasks.
Thanks for your entry, Hickory n steel. I posted a message about your knife choice on your profile page.

Dirty Dan, this is the one you have in mind, right?

Thanks for the entry, Ace! Rough Rider calls that blade a sheepsfoot. Interesting that you and scrteened porch have expressed interest in the same knife!

thanks for posting that message on my profile page, I was starting to think I was mistaken I'm glad to know I wasn't.
This idea you had of making people do some real work if they want to win one of your knives is pretty cool, and it took me about half an hour to find the pic of that peanut.
It's got some real nice looking bone BTW.

This is the one I'd like if I'm lucky enough to be chosen. This is a very cool GAW Thank you for the opportunity. :D1ky0mTb.jpg
