Rob Patton MANDRITA Fighting Bowie (PROTOTYPE)

This is an oldie but goodie. Inspired by Rob’s work with James Keating, he designed a blade that is quick and well balanced. It’s got a very organic feel to it.

Admittedly it is not as polished as it could be on the account of it being a prototype knife, but it had a lot of character that I was happy to buy it as is from Rob Patton back in the day. He did not intend to sell it but I knew I had to have it.
It sports the Keating Crossada style with its own personal touches. Very easy to ‘point’ and control and comes alive in your hand.

The large handle makes it very comfortable in the hand and also helps keep the tip of the blade ready. If you’re a fan of knives like Black Cloud then this should be up your alley.
Rob Patton does not seem to be making knives anymore.

12” blade with sharpened top swedge, 17” overall length.
Weight (no sheath) is 15.5 oz.
Patton’s own forged blade. I forget what the steel is, but it was forged by Rob the old school way. Sows a very drastic and distinct hamon temper line.
It also has a very unique "quillion" hand guard, which adds to an already unique and stunning design.
Includes a kydex sheath.

Never used and was stored in the safe. Brass pommel has a patina, hilt has some slight surface corrosion which can be wiped clean with some CLP.
Blade was stored in sheath with renaissance wax grease to protect it.

Can accept paypal.
$634 shipped (includes paypal fees) not looking for trades.

Posting it less than what I bought from Rob maybe 10+ years ago. My tastes have changed and am just cleaning my collection. This is one of the last few in my collection since I held on to it for so long, and for good reason.
