We have just received word that Rob Simonich was killed in an automobile accident last night. Beyond being a very talented knifemaker, he was a family man and a friend to many.

His family and friends are in our prayers.

That is unbelievable...how terribly tragic. Rob was one of the good guys.

Will be in prayer for his family. He will be missed.

This is such terrible news. He was indeed a great person and a great knifemaker.

Man this is so sad. Wish there was something more I could say. All I know is he was a well respected man on this forum and others. God Bless Rob and his family.

What!!!!? :(

Oh my god Jerry we just saw him at Blade East on that Sunday night when he asked if we had an extra beer.

It was the only time I had the pleasure of meeting him, terrible news especially for his family on a holiday weekend :(

$HIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I use to have one of his Talonite Kanji's. We had talked about him making a custom blade for me at one point. Damn it!!!!!!!!!!! He will be missed in this community and the world for sure.

Truly sad news. An easy guy to talk to (I did so just once) and quite the artist in steel. 73

It truly is a sad day. We will take the time tonight to say a prayer for Rob & his family.

Be at peace mate.

I had the great pleasure of meeting Rob at Blade '02. He was very friendly, with a huge and genuine personality, and a very down to earth, honest man. He was a great outdoorsman and a top notch knife maker. He was one of those rare men one occasionally meets in this world who just seems larger than life. I wish I had known him better. He will be well remembered by countless many, and will be greatly missed. This has been a bad year for my family as well, as I lost my 11 month old daughter Zoë to leukemia this September, and now this.

It's a damn shame we lost Rob. He was a great man and will be remembered forever in the hearts of all that have met him. I'm still torn up about this.

Chris (X-HEAD),

We are so sorry for the loss of your daughter. We visited your website and couldn't help but to be deeply moved by your little angel.

You and your family are in our prayers,

Jerry and Jennifer

May God be with him and his family. Terrible news. My heart goes out to his children. I know how it is too lose a father suddenly, although not so violently.

Terrible news. Rob was a good guy and will be missed. May God rest his soul and bless his family.

Chris,
So sorry! A good friend just lost his two years old son to cancer - it just isn't right!:(
