I am sure we all saw that rob231 sold a '98 Commander for $250. This got me thinking...imagine how much more he could have gotten if there was any quality at all in the knife, or if EKI treated their customers well, or if there was any originality to the design, or if it didn't have a chisel ground edge, or if Emerson was even moderately popular, or if...well, you get the point. I pity the poor sucker that bought it...

In the spirit of free enterprise and making a fast buck, I would be willing to sell my '98 #876 for $900. Not that I would expect anyone to buy it, but if someone offered me that.....

NOT!

The following is an example of sarcasm

Scott, I feel sorry for them too. Who ever it was that got there just prior to me, you should back out. It's not that I want it, I'm just suggesting it for your own good. You really are going to hate that knife.

end sarcasm

Recently there was just a small batch of NIB '98 Commanders found and sold for basically the same price.

Do any of the folks that got them feel cheated? I know I was pretty please.

I bought mine directly from Emerson at the Blade Show in '98 (serial #067). I had been waiting for the knife to come out for so long that I paid the full $219 retail price, at the time it seemed like a lot, but now....

If anyone out there has an OLD 98 commander, go ahead and send it to me and I'll replace it with a NEW, up to date 2000 commander-how's that for a deal?! When's the last time you made an even swap with your old car for a new one!
cheers,
DWE

I even included a politically incorrect Skull clip with the knife. What was I thinking!

YUP!

I was able to get #508. It's the only production Emerson I own. Comparing it to the many Emerson Customs I have, there is no discernable difference between it and the quality of any of the customs.

Cheated? HA!
