UNBELIEVABLY RARE AND HISTORIC

USS INTREPID (CVS-11) COMMERATIVE FOLDING KNIFE

This may be a once in a lifetime opportunity for serious custom knife collectors to own a rare piece of history and a fine work of art, all in one. This is an authentic handmade folding knife, created by a master craftsman, Robert Terzuola.

Formed from the stainless steel of an integral part of the USS Intrepid Aircraft carrier, if you look very closely you will even see some scars and imperfections in the metal which have been beautifully preserved in the handle. Made in the popular “Sheepsfoot” design used by seafarers who worked with rope and canvas, this knife is in beautiful condition and has been held by one private collector over the last 20 years. Only being sold due to financial hardship of the owner, this may be the only one you may ever see offered, because lets face it, if you can afford to collect a knife like this... you will most likely always want to keep it as the crown jewel in your collection and pass it down to future generation of your family.

Only 20 of these were made available to private collectors. 10 more were donated to the Intrepid Museum Foundation and the last 2 were given to Robert Terzuola’s two sons. 32 knives were made in all, each representing one year that this ship so valiantly served our country (from 1943 to 1974)

This knife is number 16 in the collection, representing commissioned year 1958. It has a 3.5 inch blade which folds smoothly into a 4.25 inch handle. The quality of this knife is amazing as you would expect and comes in a beautiful collectors box detailing most of the information described in this ad. The inside inscription tells the story of the knife and is signed by Robert Terzuola.

The USS Intrepid was one of the most successful ships in US history, serving during World War II, Vietnam and the Cold War. The ship was also used as a recovery vessel for NASA and has since been converted to a premier educational center and monument located in New York. Opening in 1982, this museum has welcomed 10 million visitors over the last 30 years and has just added the retired Space Shuttle Enterprise as a featured exhibit.
