I have a pointy no serrated, but can attest to the reliability of the locking sheath, from which the blade can be popped out easily enough with no sticking, also it has a lanyard hole in the handle which may be useful if you do drop it, the sheath itself it not too bulky, being made of kydex, has 2 belt loops, and a hole in the bottom for a neck thong or tie down
