Hi folks,

I m into living history. I have looked over some of the viking burning lenses, aparently quite advanced - though empirically.
I would like to have a replica for starting fire. Im looking for a piece of rock crystal or quartz to make one.

Did anybody of you made something like this? I have seen the articles on those made from ice, but this is something slightly different.

Do you have tips where to get cheap stone?

Thanks

Jaro

I have lots of crystals that have been collected from my backyard. Not sure if they would work.

I have been saving them for my Orgone Accumulator.

Any quartz crystal, if sufficiently clear and flawless, should work. I`ve read a bit about the subject, somewhere.. Don`t remember now though. But quartz, (the clear stuff, not the milky white porous stuff) will make a pretty decent lens i think.
Surf the interweb for a lapidary website? Maybe you can find a group close to you, that you could talk to, for making a few of them?
