Hey ROCK and dougo! You guys want to try and link up at the Austin Gun Show on October 18th? I know we all missed each other last time...we'll trade cell phone #'s this time around! I'll be getting home from lovely Northern Iraq on October 7th. This is my LAST tour over here...this "old" SOF guy is hanging up his sombrero after this one! (31 1/2 months "boots-on-ground" time since February '05 is enough for me over here!)

Let me know if you want to try and do this! Anyone else from the Austin/Central Texas area who wants to join in is welcome!

Ron...I have an orientation meeting in Houston about my trip to Kenya in Nov.

That's right, you're getting to go to Kenya! God Bless and Godspeed on your journey there, my friend! In the past, I've worked in Angola, the Congo and Cameroon.

I just fought off a mission out to Bliss, but got one to Bragg instead:confused: Well, the only bonus is that I'm going to be able to make it to the Hoodlum gathering that weekend so I won't be able to make that show. One of these gunshows we'll have to make a link up!

ROCK, I fully understand! I think I have spent as much time at Bragg, Mackall, and the surrounding area since I retired as I did when I was still on active duty! Say hello to the piney woods for me!:D

Maybe we can all link up at the November show!

Haha...I will be getting of a plane, hopefully without malaria, etc, in Houston on November 16th...

Doug, get a prescription for Malarone. It's the best anti-malaria prophylaxis out there! Over 99% effective against ALL known forms of malaria, including the really nasty hemorhaggic types that can take you out in 24 hours. I used these when I was in Africa in 2004, in an epidemic area!
