Hi Guys, here are a few manzanita burl blocks to look over. Hope you can use one ....or a few.... These came from burl that had died in the ground, cured slowly, sap rotted away, left the heartwood. I collect this wood during the summer months when I'm at my "day job" as a logger. I uncover lots of green burl in the course of a day. The green ones start to check within a few hours on a warm day....I've never checked but the moisture level has gotta be "way up there". The blocks below are nice. Very few flaws but I'll point the obvious ones out in the discriptions. If you buy one and don't like it, send it back for a full refund.....no questions asked. Thanks for looking. Rocky/rockb
Measurements and prices:
M18, 1 x 2 x 5". $25.00
M19, 1 1/8 x 2 1/8 x 5 1/8. $20.00 Look for one check on the end of this piece. On one side of the block, the check is about 3/4" long, other side is about 1/2" long.
M20, 1 1/8 x 2 1/8 x 6" long. $30.00 "White out" mark on this one shows a check/crack....it's not big and a little CA should cure it but there it is. : )
M21, 1 1/8 x 1 7/8 x 6 1/2" long. $30.00
Note the grain orientation on the blocks on each end. The eyes show on the widest side. Two blocks in the middle show medullary rays on the widest surface so the eyes will show on the sides or narrowest face.
