This was my crude attempt at a "Rocket Stove" from the previous thread on them. Worked very well but I am going to build a cleaner/more portable one from a old popcorn tin.
I do plan to build a nice brick one near the fire pit. Would be an awesome way to cook some food during bonfire nights.
I like the Eruptor stove in the video, but I don't understand the reason for the pot to sit so far above the can. I am new to these homemade stoves so I'm not questioning, just curious.
The "Eruptor" stove is going to lose a lot of energy since the pot sits so high. It's no different than hanging a pot on a fire.
The idea behind the "Rocket" stove is to insulate the chimney area (be it with bricks or some type of insulation in a can set up) and focus the heat right on top. The fire creates a draft coming through the system and burns HOT. It's very efficient.
