I have barely used it though, so I can't discount its potential to defy the very architecture of time and space ;)

lol...I think one charismatic maker/convex advocate has managed to convince his followers that his convex grinds defy the laws of physics, geometry, and materials science. And time and space.

I love a convex edge. People claim they are "sharper" and have better edge retention not realizing they aren't...they are just easy to maintain.

"This knife is the sharpest knife I have ever experienced! The maker is a genius and convex edges are magic!"
"No, you can just keep it sharp."

That's all the magic. Easy to keep sharp.

Nope. It's fairly easy to refine a convex edge. Easier than a vee, in fact, since the process doesn't require a fixed angle throughout the process.

An edge is an edge. Doesn't matter what thickness the spine is.

Have you done much sharpening? I would highly suggest getting a knife, a couple grits of wet/dry, some cardboard, and convexing it.

It would bring more gravitas to your reviews.

Yeah...I do plenty of sharpening on convex blades. It's easy to refine a convex edge, but takes forever when you have any chipping on the blade. Fallkniven's 3G steel drives me insane. I haven't needed to sharpen the Rockstead yet, but I doubt I'll do that one myself. I'll just send it off to them. I use the old sandpaper on top of a mouse pad method. I also have a quality strop that I use to finish the job.
