I just recently purchase 2 Rocksteads, a Hizen and Higo.

I'd like to sell the Hizen #393 in YXR7 steel. 2.875in DLC coated blade, OAL 7in. Comes with paperwork, box, tool, and sharp! Great knife, just a tad too small for my large hands. Great knife though, I appreciate both Higo and Hizen knives.

I didn't register it, and honestly I didn't look over the paperwork that intensely.. Is it a thing? How would that alter a decision... ?

The warranty only applies to the original (registered) owner. Rockstead warrants the sharpness of the blade... If the knife doesn't cut well, it may be sent it for sharpening

I'll check to see if it is, and if that is their warranty, I won't be purchasing another blade of theirs... Some companies warranty their knife, regardless of owner.. If it's their knife, they do service.. Again, I'll check.

Ah sweet, thanks for chiming in! I feel complete =)

The Hizen has not been spoken for yet, carry on!

sloth357 sloth357 if this is the one I sold you, then it has not been registered and I included a copy of the sales receipt, so any future owner will be able to register it.
I hate to post in a sales thread but this is completely untrue...from personal experience I can tell you that Rockstead warrants to the original purchaser ONLY regardless of previous registration and they have been known to note online secondary sales such as this one.

glad my sales thread turned into a Rockstead discussion thread...

So then if it needs resharpening you would have to pay a small fee. Or never return it to the manufacturer? I can't believe they are that horrible. I will have to contact them now just to get some real information, not this back and forth shit.

I contacted Rockstead to ask more about the "sharpness warranty" and about next of kin considerations.

However from their website they do state secondary owners are not given the "sharpness warranty". I don't think that means they won't re-sharpen it, but it would then be at a small cost plus shipping.

On the sharpness note, this knife is VERY sharp and no edge issues. Rockstead suggests, LAF, after EVERY use, to strop with a compound on a jean strop 2-3 times to maintain sharpness.. RIGHT, I'm sure Rockstead original purchasers do that.

SO, knife still for sale, some info. of use. Some NOT. SO quit dirtying up this sales thread... I've purchased knives that on this forum should have had more info. from seller about condition and quality that was not there... My sales thread is straight forward, I don't hold any info. and questions are suggested if you are not sure about something.
