Very sad day to part with this one, but no choice! I have a flawless Rockstead Shin DLC in YXR7 steel direct from Rockstead in Japan.
Knife was purchased from one of only two authorized dealers in the USA, Fort Henry Knives (Vince) in May of 2013.
Never used, carried or sharpened. Everything you hear is true, such an amazing knife, design, construction, materials, attention to detail, fit and finish and craftmanship. A custom in every way, even though it is sometimes classified as a semi-custom. Blade hardness at RC 64.8!!! As smooth as butter, solid, vault-like lockup. ZERO blade-play in any direction, perfectly centered.
Rocksteads are difficult to obtain, out of stock and long wait times (4-6 months). I do not see a Shin DLC available in the USA at any dealer.
I will include a very nice "pocket sheath" made out of Buffalo Skin that Maprik (BladeForums super modder gifted me when I recevied this knife).
Sharp as @#$%^&. Still probably the sharpest knife that I have personally handled.
