I was just wondering it the Rodent series was going to be Japanese style swords and daggers. A tanto made like the Waki, but maybe a 10" to 12" blade would be cool.

I think we're all wondering HD.
I wish Eric would do the decent thing and put us our of our misery - or at least release some more teasers.

That would be most EXCELLENT!!! Tanto in 10-12" range with a hilt like the WAKI, just shorter. HELL YES... Maybe even say .200" thick.

Hell yes!

(Just wait a little while, would ya? Geez...I am having a hard time keeping up here....)

I would buy a waki in a 12 inch for sure. I have alot of 10 inchers but I am suuuuuure I would find a spot for it;)

I'd take one. I asked about something like this years ago !!
And I might even be able to afford one!

I'd expect a few modified Wakis to surface with shorter blades and handles. Someone already chopped the handle IIRC.

I think I said it before, I'd like a Bussekin Japananese style zombie slaying ensemble.

Katana by SYKCO
Waki by SWKW
Tanto by Busse Combat

Make the bigger blade from the cheaper marque and the smaller from the more expensive marqeue.
Any anyway what better for slicing through any armed zombie's sword than a sword based on jackhammer tool steel?

Give me a few months to recover from the Waki purchase and I'm in for one of these. To think, all these years I've been drooling over Busse, when my true calling was for SRs.

I would be very interested in a Swamp Rat Tanto "IF" they also have a CONVEX blade grind to compliment my Waki. And with the same style guard/Quillion to compliment the Waki. Same shape and diameter handle with same CNC swirls in the handle, but with a one handed sized handle with 3 hollow pins instead of 5. And a simpler more streamlined pommel - maybe not as straight and simple as the Ruck, but I probably prefer less pommel than the AK47 for a tanto (?????).

I would personally prefer at least 11.5" blade, but up to 12.5" or even 13".

Even better would be one at 12.5" - 13" AND a smaller one around 8" or so.

I have a few Tantos around that size, but NONE are proper convex grind. Even worse, they are all hollow grind - which to me, makes them SHOW QUEENS and not users. :( . IMO, a proper tanto or Wakizashi should have a convex grind or very similar "traditional - Appleseed" grind.

I am VERY glad Swamp Rat provided the Waki's with Convex blades - making them MUCH more functional users.

I would LOVE a large sized USER Tanto (or two  ) to compliment.

Here is an OLD picture of a few of my Larger tantos (with some other non-tantos mixed in - just a pic I had already in my picture account.):

Top down:

Fallkniven Thor - 10" blade
Swamp Rat - Battle Rat (satin finished) 9.375" blade
Cold Steel - San Mai Magnum XII - 11.625" blade
Bark River - Golok 11.5" blade
Bark River - Northwind 17.25" blade
Tramontina - 17.625" blade machete
Entrek - Wakizashi 12.5" blade
Extrema Ratia - T2000 11.5" blade

.

I've played with the cold steel tantos also in three sizes... very functional

A Busse family Tanto would be made correctly and would be an excellent little brother to the Waki and AK....

btw very nice collection ;-)
