Hi Ryan,

You can find the story here:

And here is a pic of both knives:

Roger, Good looking knife! Will there be more?

I'd like to do a couple more for sure - part of me really wants to see if I can improve upon the first two. But realistically, I lack both the time and the equipment to really pursue the maker route.

What I would like to do at some point is take the bladesmithing course where I can practice some of the technicques of forging and (particularly) grinding without the pressure of knowing I have to take the piece to completion. I totally SUCK at grinding metal (which is, of course, the best motivation to forge closely to shape).

Taking these two knives from start to finish really was a priceless educational experience that gave me a deeper appreciation of the craft - and the sheer amount of work involved.

I like it! I really like Dan Farr's approach to handles. A good influence. Something new and different, and lots of character.

Very nice Roger! I didn't get to see that hunter at the hammer-in, but that Bowie came out real nice.

These are both awesome pieces, I was really glad I got to see them!

With the acception of the hammer marks on the bowie (which I happen to like as they add a "forging history") I'm sure these are easily Js quality knives. REALLY nice stuff!!!

I think when I finally get my piece of property and new shop I will have to have the Bladeforums collectors over for a week-long blade forging expo :D.....

Thanks for posting these Peter!
