How can you possibly discontinue this piece? It's sharp as a razor, hits like a truck, and hammers like there's no tomorrow. Why discontinue?

A guy wanders off for a few days and he comes back to find out that ATC's already phasing out his favorite 'hawk--well, second favorite to ole' Spike.
