Roll Call - for any other oldsters

I know I've been here since '98 but my profile doesn't show it. Good to see a few of the 'old' guys saying "Hi".

Kelly - yeah the good old days of the nightly knife chats huh? <-- good times.

Wow, that's been a while, hasn't it? I just cruised over to the archives and found some other names from that first year. Several have passed on, others have dropped off the face of the earth, some pop up from time to time.

Doc Welch, Kit, Spark, Tim Flanagan, Pat, Dona (DC), Donna, James Mattis, Mike Turber, Blues, Will Fennell, Alan Folts, Bill McWilliams, Strider, Brian Lavin, Jadis, Adamantium, Lucky Dog, Rob Simonich, Gene, thaddeus, Blades, Bob Irons, TomW, Joe Talmadge, Chang (remeber the Changbenza?), Kodiak PA, Kysa (remember that whole fiasco?), Dexter Ewing, Les Robertson...

Remember the EDI Genesis, REKAT Pioneer, Mad Dog?

I did a search for my first post on bfc a short time ago. It was a question on the different types of micarta...canvas, linen, and paper. I got answers from such greats as Rob Simonich, Darrel Ralph, James Mattis !!!

There are a lot of guys that I miss here and a very few that I don't.

I remember EDI. In fact I have one in my pocket now. I swear I must have gotten the best one out of the business! LOL It still locks up tight with a centered blade but the serrations have taken such a beating that I finally turned it into a recurve. :D
I still remember the Maddog **** storm. Jeez that took forever to pass.

Thanks for the memories!

Man who could forget REKAT and Mad Dog?
(LOL! You could say the Mad Dog ***storm is just dormant...no doubt you could stir it up at any time ;))
How about the "cutting edge" fiasco with A.G?
And the big Mike Turber/Josh battle?
And the Spark/ Earl Stewart battle <- w/out which there wouldn't be a BF.
hehe lot's of interesting times.

I do miss James Mattis though. The forum lost a lot when he passed away. :(
James was a true gentleman in every respect.

What was that, can't hear you! Woke me from my nap. Scratch, cough, fart :D

Fennel dragged me over from Rec.knives way back and enjoyed the site ever since.

Got an original EDI also and she's going strong. BTW, EDI's been bought and they're back out on the market. The fellow who owns it is trying to move ahead with some of the old EDI projects.

I guess we'll have to keep the memories of the guys now gone refreshed with threads like these from time to time.

Been around a while, joined when I finally got a computer ;)
And yep, it's good to see Kelly around and the Saint as well :)

Good to see some old names popping up. I started lurking here at work in November or December 1998 but didn't end up joining until I had a decent computer at home. Hard to believe how long it has been. I don't even want to know how many hours I have spent on this site alone. *shudder*

Lurking here since '98, 1st joined Knifeforums- used to lurk on rec.knives.
Here since Jan. '99. Met some good folks from here (& other places) at the NYC Custom shows when I was living in the Big Apple (PhilL, Ebbtide, Esav, Ken C, Lifter, Brian C & others...) Learned a bunch, bought & sold some nice pieces- looking forward to more.

Time flies when you are having fun.

We have lost a few good ones along the way, like Bill Martino who's post count (34,096!!) will probably keep him as our most active member for at least another decade.
