A rare NCKK doubleheader - following lunch we will ride up to the "big city" of Lewisville, NC to check out a new knife shop that just opened up in town.

See ya bright and early tomorrow morning....

Know ya'll are tired of me saying I will be there and then not getting there but, if the wife headfs off to Boone with her buddy for a day of education at Happy Appy, then I will TRY and make it. Just received a Crawford Covert that Pat did up right with some ironwood and filework that I am dying to show to somebody that can appreciate it for what it is and not "just another knife"!
Of course I will be wanting to check out a MADD MAXX dagger or two to see how they compare to my favorite edc peice a MM bowie style! Time and place please. No promises, but I will try.

Y'all have fun. I've spent too much on knives this week already (over a K). Denice and I are going fishing. Its just too darned pretty down here not to be out on the lake.

You guys should forgo the gun show and come to the NCCKG spring meeting at Montgomery Community College in Troy, NC. It is a 2 day meeting. We are expecting a large number of NC guild members and some SCAK members as well. George Herron and Geno Denning are slated to do a couple of demos (their "hogger" grinder & soldering guards). Alan Folts will be doing a demo on linerlock folders. Mark Hazen is supposed to demo tapered tangs. There are other demos as well.

It will definitely be the best concentration of makers and their knives in the Carolinas.

Did I mention that there will tons of knives there?

I was going to try and be there sunday, but all the Mastercare Firestone's are having a big sale on sunday and my boss has me working.

So I'll miss the show. (If anyone needs tires, this sunday will be the time to get them.)
Maybe the next show. Have fun!!

Too bad that most of you guys missed the first day of the NCCKG meeting today. Phillip and I saw lots of cool knifemaking demos and talked with a bunch of great people. George Herron and his lovely wife even supplied some good barbeque for the main part of todays lunch. The supplied lunch was fantastic as usual.

For those of you who were at the Winston gun show looking for knives, too bad. The best selection of custom knives in the entire state was at the meeting. I saw some absolutely stunning folders by Andrew McLurkin, A few AWESOME fixed-blade daggers by John Poythress, some fantastic hunters by Mark Hazen, and even some AVAILABLE knives by Geno Denning (5 to be exact). There were numerous other makers with great knives as well (too many to list). Needless to say, there was plenty of drooling going on.

The meeting will also take place tomorrow. You all are more than welcome to attend.
