Okay, so I'm building a scabbard for a Viking Style Seax for a guy. This one happens to have a bone handle. What I'd like to do is go with a bone and silver motif for the scabbards fittings.

The questions I have are:

1) Where is a good source of white bleached bone?
2) Is there anyone out there that sells bone decorative items?
3) How does one work bone? Power tools? Hand tools?
4) Is there some other white bone looking material that I should be thinking about instead?

Thanks for looking...

Bone works easily and quickly with basic hand tools, like files, saws, sandpaper. power tools will cause it to stink to high heaven. and possibly burn and discolor the bone. wear a mask or respirator when working it.
