Roman sword

Man, now I want a Condor Combat Machete.
I bought a pair of CS double edge machetes as a poor man's Gladius. Gave one to my BIL since he was interested in the whole short sword concept. Think I just whet his appetite for the real deal.:)

If you like the CS Double Edged Machete, check out the new Condor Thunderhead. Like a Combat Machete on steroids. ;)

I know this is an old thread but another modern take on the Gladius is done by a guy named John Gage. He calls his the "tactical gladius". His modern style is useful in that it has a full tang handle rather than a cylinder or push tang like the ancients. He can also do different finishes on the blade including satin, matte black and camoflauge. I own one with a satin finish and love it. You can check him out here: http://gagecustomknives.com

Beautiful sword! I've got the black finish one!

Well, the Gage Gladius was received yesterday. Brutish, black, pure evil, wicked grin on my face. Pics, as promised:

One photo show how it fits in my hand. Well built. If I had an analogy, consider a more classical Gladius like a 1911 and John's Gladius like my loved Glocks. They share a smiliar history and lineage but different and equally valid interpretations.
