Ron Hood's Del Bow

Anyone ever bag game with that carabiner style sling shot and arrow combination that Ron Hood demonstrates in his video? I made one and shot some arrows with it, despite my best efforts the surgical tubing kept coming off mine. Never bagged any game with it, snares and fishing always much more effective.
