I picked up my newest hunter at the hammer-in this weekend. It is crafted by Ron Newton and is perfect. It is diamond ladder pattern damascus hunter with a nickle silver guard and buttcap. It has a stag carver handle and the blade is made of 01 and 15N-20. If someone will tell me how to post a picture, I will attempt it. Ron is a true artist with his work. Also a very nice person.

Hunter, you're right Ron is a nice person and at one time he used to post on BFC, but I haven't seen him post lately. Funny, but one of the things he wanted to know was how to post pics on the Forums.

Posting pics is rather easy, and there are a copuple of ways to do it. #1 would be to sign up as a Gold Member of BFC, that would allow you to load pics right off of your desktop into your posts.
#2 would be to put your pics on a website or album site, I use PictureTrial.Com, you get four free albums, it's easy to use and works great. Once you have your pics on the Web, all you need to do is Copy and Paste the URL for the pic between
COLOR]
and your pic will be posted.

HUnter you need to open the pic in a new window for the link.

HD.
I think you made a great choice.

Ron has a tremendous amount of my respect as a person and a knife-maker.

Hope you enjoy your new knife.

Since Ron sometimes reads this forum, I had better be on my best behavior. ;)

In all seriousness, Ron Newton is one of the best out there. Not just as a knifemaker, but as a human being also. My bowie that Ron made for me is flawless, but working out the details with Ron was just as much fun as actually getting the knife.

Since all I can see is a red X I am going to post this picture. I know that people can click on the link, but what the heck, may as well have a picture for the lazy folks.

Keith, great knife! I saw Newton at the hammer-in this last weekend. I was walking through the parking lot when Flatgrind called me over to Ron's truck. Let me tell you, he hade some great pieces! One was a 1/3 scale bowie that was FLAWLESS. Another was a full sized bowie carbon, ivory, blued clam shell guard and pommel, that was equally impressive. Ron is extremly talented. I hope to get to know him better, soon.;)
