i had a few minutes before i had to go to work today, so i got my bowie out and went into the back yard to chop on a piece of wood. anyway, on the first blow (not even a hard blow) the brass butt cap came loose, almost completely off.it is now sitting on my desk, laughing at me. caould you tell me where to send it to be fixed?if there is any cost involved, lemme know, as i did buy the knife used.
thanks,
MAURICE

Hi Maurice,

Sorry about the problems. Didn't you know you're not suppose to use your knife?

Just kidding!

Don't worry about warranty, you'll be well cared for. Here is a link for return instructions.

I was not aware knives could laugh at people. Are you sure you're alright?

I had a girlfriend years back who woke me up by putting a death grip on my left pectoral and told me the walls were laughing at her.

She did not like my knives either, including an SOG Gov't circa 1991. Said something about them being "war knives." What do you know, a great backside and smart too

I still have a pile of knives, and no idea where she is.

Moral of the story: if you try you can find a girl willing to buy you a real deal Bagwell for your birthday. (the one I have been with for five years did!)

Hi Ron,
i know you probably don't deal with the return of knives personally, but i was wondering if you have recieved the knife yet.I sent it out Monday or Tuesday, and im just checking up on it.

Hi Maurice,

I personally haven't seen it, but I have been hearing a muffled unidentified laughing coming from an unopened customer's box.

I wonder if it is your knife?

Seriously, I'll look into it in the morning. Steve and Tina both work in Consumer Services and may have already listened to, I mean reviewed, your knife. If I can brag for a moment, they are my frontline staff that any SOG customer would reach if calling in, and both of them are outstanding.

Take care.

Hi Maurice,

It's here and now laughing at me.

That's a real strange break on the butt cap. Did you try to glue it back on? If not, the prior owner did, because there is glue covering where a clean metal break should be.

Regardless. No signs of abuse, neglect or anything else. There is no external reason for the butt cap to have broken off. A new knife will be issued...No problems!

Take care.

Wow, another reason to love SOG...besides the knives that is. You people are the greatest. May your blades be ever sharp, and your business ever lucrative.

OH MY GOD!
Thanks Ron!

I got the knife from AG Russell's used display, and didnt even notice the previious breakage till after it broke on me.

Then I took a closer look at it...on the sheath, right where the butcap meets the leather, there was a tear.Looks like the previous owner glued the cap back on,then re-sheathed it before the glue could dry, then took it out, ripping the leather.
And of course,he sent it back to AG,than to you folks, who can fix it.
Like I said,I have no idea who owned it,or what they did to it,but i appreciate it.
Thanks again,
Morris,

Hi Maurice,

Your new knife will ship today, via UPS Ground. Now, not all warranty claims turns around this quickly, but this one did.
