lil' masked bandits!!!!:D

That one doesn't like the paparazzi! My parents get raccoons in their yard sometimes, all I get is 'possums!

Great pics. It looks good sized and I've seen some big ones.

I got a vagely simliar racoon story. Did a kayak fishing trip to Mammoth - June loop last year. Rented an A frame house with parking right next to a fish cleaning station (sounds odd but it was a very nice place). Woken up by noise at 2 AM as a monster racoon was enjoying dinner of fish parts at the cleaning station.

Went back to sleep and got up at 5 AM to go fishing. He was still there and my car was about 4 feet away. He was kind of aggressive as I tried to discreetly get in my car. Used a flashlight to the eyes (light, not physical blows) to slow him down every time he started coming towards me. My pics are not near as nice but an interesting night non the less.

Cool pics

We're having a pretty serious "trash invading" problem around here. If my neighbor ever gets his hands on the little guys, they're toast

I owe a lot to racoons and 'possums. They helped my folks survive the Great Depression.

the best thing you can do is build a small catapult and bait it with cat food. when the raccoon steps up to take the bait, launch him into the neighbor's yard.

That's nothing a .22 can't fix! If you live in the country, just let your dog chase him into a tree and shoot him at your leisure. Pesky varmints- they hang out in my dumpster here in the city all the time, giving my dogs fits. I've had one under the red dot of my 10/22 and would have ended him right then and there if I thought my neighbors wouldn't rat me out. I've been contemplating a snare and a baseball bat.

Guess he found our grapes to be a midnight snack.
He/she also did us a favor and ate all the yellow jacket nests
that had been built in awening this summer. As for "offing" the
bandit...well,he hasn't denned up under my house yet so
holding off on that.:)

Don't off him and post pics. One forumite got a visit from the authorities after doing so with a masked marauder in his garage.

Those are sum pretty funny pics...

Yea, don't off that creature. I love animals... Actually I have feel more symphatic towards animals than humans...

Don't get me wrong, I love animals too, and I don't kill anything that doesn't need killin'. I'm one of those guys that scoops spiders up with a glass and takes them outside to let them go instead of killing them- always. But racoons are currently on my list. Don't let their cute faces and human-like hands fool you- they are nihilists- they believe in nothing except destruction. They tear stuff up just for fun. Racoons and groundhogs are the worst.

That cute little racoon in those pictures- odds are he's thinking of ways to make himself a nuisance, right now.

Except yourself, of course. LOL.

Off the sucker. I hate coons. HATE EM. Haven't seen one around me in a long time. I suspect my neighbor up the street is pretty judicious on culling the herds. Ditto for the coyote problem we used to have.

Ehhhh,
Just sounds like nonsence to me... Its just an animal.. They are not as smart as humans(most humans that is) and don't know better...
The way a lot of ya feel about coons bacically demonstrates the same way I feel about a few people in paticular... No regrets..

Although if one attacks me it would be a different story...

I've been hearing coyote calls at night up where I am...

I now take an AK with me when I take the dog out at night.

.

That does look like some sort of infi thieves hat. With the cameras for eyes and such. What you can't see from that angle is the 250lbs Hog under the racoon hat.

The biggest worry I think for you is not the one you can see but the 3 others lurking around back waiting until you're distracted. Remember these types always hunt in packs.

Maybe you could tether an AK out front and when they come for it spray them with some buckshot. The AK wouldn't have a mark and your problem could be solved.

I don't mind coons. It's the bear taking the lid off my septic tank at 5:00 am and trying to climb in that gets me going. Great pics, tho'.
