Anyone own/have owned a Rookie? If so, your impressions/experience would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

I actually really like it. Its small and not a defensive knife by any means but for EDC it is great and very aesthetic. I did the Nutnfancy skateboard tape jimping mod.

to me it was like a 1/2 endura.

i prefer med-lge folders. i even find the lum chinese to be too small.

I put up a thread asking the same questions a few weeks ago, there are some ggo answeres there.

However, i just revieved my Rookie about 45 minutes ago, so here are my first impressions. Yes, this is a small knife, but also a very nice one and has a good feel to it, large hands may not suit though. The fit and finish is as to be expected with spyderco, very good. Over all it seems a good knife.

This will make a great EDC utility folder and will be very easy to carry. All in all I am happy with mine, just got to use it for a while and see what I think.

I also picked up a Tenacious, talk about value for money, another winner there.

Good call, once it's gone it won't be back for a long time.
It was not the knife for me but I can see how others would like it.
Quality little package. I bet the Spyde faithful love it.

Good little knife with a great blade to handle ratio. I would recommend it for light to medium use. Like a lot of people, mine came with a very tight pocket clip. Get one while the sprint runs are still around .

Carried mine over the weekend and used it a few times. Its a great little knife, you hardly notice it in your pocket and it doesnt weigh the pants down, which for an edc is perfect.

I have a NIB G10 Rookie that I just never managed to carry. Great design though. I need to dig it out and use it some.

Now that this thread is back in front again I'll have to say that after returning it I now miss it. Not really sure what purpose it would resolve for me but it is a truly well made little package. No hope of getting one now after the Mili & Police I just bought. But still, I miss the little bugger.

I've had a FG one for a few weeks now and like it a lot. It makes a nice second knife when I'm carrying a big blade or one without a point as my primary user of the day. It's light and slender and just disappears. I have to keep checking to make sure it hasn't fallen out of my pocket because I don't notice it when I'm carrying it.

A surprising amount of blade for such a small package (If the handle was any smaller, I wouldn't be able to hold it comfortably), classic style, and solid construction. My only issue with it is that the clip is too far from the end of the handle because it's below a lanyard hold. I'd rather not have the hole and have the knife not stick as far up when it's clipped in a pocket.

Been carrying mine for a couple of weeks now and really like it. One of the best things is how light and compact it is in the pocket, I don't even notice it is there till I need it.
