Hi Everybody,

Thought you may enjoy this.
Free hanging 2" manila rope cut with "Oinkalibur 2" my NMFBM that has been through a lot.

a "from Garth" edge, v grind with a bit of sharpening
I am not very obsessive about those kind of things sorry I do not know the angle or degree.

After I shot it with jacketed 45ACP's several times it kind of messed the very edge up so I sent it back to Garth and it came back great.
I have since just sharpened and chopped a bunch with it.

That's just awesome!

...and actually much, much more difficult to do than it looks.

Great video, that is not an easy thing to do.

I'm going with the latter, it didn't appear to be a very clean cut from the vid but with enough force it should sail through anyways

Actually it was very cleanly cut, that NMFBM is one of the sharpest knives I own.

Now technique has a bit to do with it.

One of Busse's original performance videos has Jennifer (Jerry's wife) I believe slicing through a big group of rope in one swipe.

The knife has to be very very sharp and have a fine edge It needs to bite into the rope.
If it does not the rope will just bounce off of the edge.

That is why free hanging rope is used in the test I believe.

It is hard to do.

We used to use 3/4" rope and it was tough :)

Need to pick up some rope, this looks fun.

Has anyone attempted a bamboo mat? You know, the ones the katana people use.

Well done Dave! It takes a lot of skills to execute that cut. A sharp knife alone is not enough to do that.
