Rope cutting :) NMFBM

a "from Garth" edge, v grind with a bit of sharpening
I am not very obsessive about those kind of things sorry I do not know the angle or degree.

After I shot it with jacketed 45ACP's several times it kind of messed the very edge up so I sent it back to Garth and it came back great.
I have since just sharpened and chopped a bunch with it.

Good attitude!

And agreed, technique matters a lot.

Thank you Everybody, it is fun :)

Feel free to post up your chopping videos

Very inspiring...I want to run out to Home Depot and get some rope! lol... Excellent job on that cut...I hear it is a real booger to do in one swing. I see all of the water bottle cutting videos on YouTube and wonder if they could do the same with manilla rope.

It's also in the swing.

I can slice through water bottles very easily with my sebbie, but if I hand my coworker the knife and ask him to do the same, he launches the bottle, probably from blade spill (edge isn't flat with spine during travel).

Dave, I bet you could cut a 3 incher. I remember Jerry cutting 4-1 inch free hanging ropes tied together. Of course on one of his attempts he tore his shoulder. I bet you could do that also. Not tear the sholder, but cut 4-1 inch ropes.;)

Next meet and greet I will give it a try.

This friggin rope is expensive though :)

the 2" stuff was 2.50 a foot, my 20' piece was 50.00
the 3/4" stuff was .70

I'll chip in. Worth it. That is expensive. Where do you get it?

I work on a ship, not lacking any rope here.
Let's start a business?

Please send me some for "Testing" I am sure salt water encrusted stuff would be fun and challenging :)

the stuff I bought

2" stuff a friend got it from a place that sells it to cross fit gyms so people can swing them up and down ?

the 3/4" stuff is the biggest Home Depot had.

p.s.

Golf balls are fun to chop on the move ;)
