I've just been too busy with all the others and with chopping to get to try one. Given the lots of good comments on the knives, and that the maker seems like a practical guy - they could be very good.
I used one last year up in Maine. I am a novice to axes, but I thought it did a good enough job that I will be buying one before I go to Maine again next month. The Roselli axe seemed very efficient on the smaller trees I cleared (both fir and deciduous). I am still learning the ins and outs of axe use so I can't give a more technical response. It seemed to hold an edge for long to do a day's worth of work, off and on; and was still sharp enough to take branches about 1.5 inches in diameter with a single well placed blow the next day and sharpened fairly easily. The only other axe I have used is a Collins and the Roselli imho was much better. I have recently purchased a Grandfors Bruks Wildlife Hatchet but haven't had the chance to use it yet. I will be interested to see how it compares. Have you gone to www.roselli.fi on the web yet. The site shows all he has to offer.
