so i got my hands on some B52 from carpenter steel (this is a 3 melt ESR grade of 52100 )
had the burl form a few years back and thought it woudl be fitting for the old car inspired shape of the razor
gold wash 2-56 screws and 1/8 folder pivot

all and all its just a few simple bits of wood and steel to make an every day tool

all comments are welcome and i ll answer anything about it thnks for looking

what a beauty, I really like 52100 for my razors, its just beggin for a shave

Kris
ive been usign 52100 for a few years on my razors adn it is great stuff thats why im testing the ESR B52 as its about as clean as i can buy so it should be worth the $

All sorts of awesome. Digging the recessed spine - does it change the balance in any way you might notice?

Matt not really but this is after all a large razor (15/16 tall) the tang is a bit more masive then the other razors i was doing but it makes it easy to control while shaving and stroping

the test shave went well nice and smooth /close after i got used to the blade my normal razor is a wedge SS 6/8 so this was much more lively (i got to test shave one of the full hollows soon jsut to remember how that feels too)

The handle looks to be a single piece of wood.
Do you have any other photos showing the spine of the handle or other different views?
It is a beautiful razor Butch. I keep coming back to look at it.

it is one piece (i dont like making 3 piece razors )
i ll fire up the light box and get a few more pictures for you
