I just bought me a used Rossi with the interchangable .410, and .22 barrells.

Not bad for 60 bucks at the pawn shop. Gonna use it to teach my younguns how to shoot better, and as a pack rifle.

Anyone have one? Can you tell me how to swap the barrels? The douche at the shop didnt know how.

If you live near a Dick's Sporting Goods, you could ask them. They carry that gun.

$60?!? Wowza, good score man. Can't help on the barrel switch, was there no online manual to download?

Nearest one is in KC. 60 miles away.

I looked on their site, but manuals arent available yet on it.

Yeah, I really didnt need to spend the dough, but I couldnt pass on it. Its insane right now around here. Everyone is trading stuff for assualt rifles, and pistols with high caps. So these kind of things are in abundance right now, because they arent "hot" sellers. Good deals to be had right now on hunting shotguns and singleshot stuff.

Found this:
Swapping barrels takes about 30 seconds and is easily done in the field. First (always), open the action and make sure the gun is unloaded. Close the action and unscrew the forend sling swivel. Pull off the forend, open the action, rotate the installed barrel open and off the hinge bar, hook the new barrel on, close the action, pop the forend back in place, and retighten the sling swivel. (When Robert Morrison, Taurus’s U.S. executive vice president and COO, demonstrated the Matched Pair to Wal-Mart buyers at their Arkansas headquarters last October, he did the switch in 20 seconds flat, which may have influenced their decision to put the blued version into all their sporting goods departments this year.)

I've never had a rossi but I've had another version. If it's like mine ( single shot barrels and a butstock that will take either one) then you remove the forearm(wood grip area under the barrel) and break it down like you were giong to put a shell in it. The barrell should just keep folding and come right off. Then the other barrell goes on the same way. Put the fore arm back on and fire away. That's the way mine worked anyway.

Oh Jake, how did you find the whole setup weight-wise? Too heavy to take on treks? Or worthwhile if you just took one of the barrels?

My Grandpa purchased a set of Rossi .410 single shots for my Twins  When they get big enough then I'll teach'em to shoot !

Have on and I can't praise it enough. Barrel swap is nothing more than unscrewing the front swivel, reboveing forarm and opening the action like any other single shot. Real easy. Does yours have the fiber optic front and rear sights?

It is a outstanding little gun for the money. Just last week I took a limit of canada geese with it. Don't under estimate the 410 cartridge for keeping the pot full of good eats. Any other questions just let me know I would love to help you out.

Paul.

Spooky,

I can weigh it for you tonight when I get home. It is not that heavy at all.

Rossi sells that same gun in Brazil as a 10 inch barrel pistol, interchangeable barrel combo gun. Its too bad a 10 inch .410 is an NFA weapon up here. The other interesting thing is that Brazil allows stocked pistols. I've been very tempted to buy one and set it up with a stock that holds the extra barrel. Mac

BINGO!!!

Thanks guys.

What threw me off was that both barrels I got with mine have there own forearm screwed on.

Got it now though.

Will, its super light. Its a youth sized gun, but I can shoot em just fine. If I take the barrell off, both pieces would fit in a pack great.

Valcas, no my .22 barrell is not fiber optic sighted. The .410 has just the brass bead, and the .22 is jut a standard rifle type sight.

nice score J... sounds like a fun little gun to shoot... i bet your boys will love it... as much as i love the fact that my boys shoot bows, i have been wanting to buy a .22 for them.. to learn to shoot safely and also to feel comfortable around guns...

pict, tht sounds awesome!!

Rossi isnt "top of the line", but Ive never heard anything bad bout em, and for what this is, its a well made gun, that is simple, lightweight, and easy to teach newbies with.

Mike, I bet they would love one! Single shot .22s are cheap to buy, and cheap to shoot!!

Stand by for some pics....

That is a cool find! Rossi makes some neat little guns. I remember learning to shoot with a little Rossi pump action .22

J,

#5 Bismuth with a whopping 9/16 oz payload.

You gotta get em close, but the gun will do it no problem.
