I got a pair off Ebay excellent shape. Unusual to me, is that the steel bolsters appear to be plated in brass and dull appearing. Is this an unusual feature, and can they be polished? I appreciate all your feedback!

I've seen folding stilettos with brass plated stainless steel parts. It's done for looks. I guess some people like the look of brass more than stainless steel.

I would imagine that the bolsters on your knives could be polished. But since you have no way of knowing how thick the plating is, I would suggest doing the polishing by hand as opposed to using a machine to avoid wearing the brass too thin.

And since this thread is about folding stilettos, I'll go ahead and show off two of my favorites :)

Thanks, appreciate it. I guess Brasso and a soft cloth would clean them up. A nice pair you have there. Loved these type knives since the mid 1960's.
