Rotary platen updates...more pics

dave. if you look at a cross section of a convex grind it looks like a apple seed. bullet grind is another term.
 
I met Rob for the first time at the Blade Show. He gave an outstanding presentation of his grinders and all the attachments. I was really impressed with the designs and like Darrel said, they are overbuilt. When the dust settles a little, I guess I'll be waiting on the Brown truck:)
It's great to read good reviews of a product and when you actually see it, realize it's all true.

Also somnetimes called cannella(sp?) or convex grind. Similar to th Fallkniven S-2 knife.

I didn't see Rob demonstrate the machines but I got to look them over and I was very impressed. They are the most solidly built machines I've seen, and the new rotary platten looked great. I think it would be a pleasure doing flat and convex grinds on it, much more comfortable than a hard platten I think.
