Rottweiler Near-Miss

Just a thought, and maybe it wouldn't work but....

If the dog's got you by the arm, maybe it'd be possible to pick it up by the throat and stop it pulling you down. Then you could fall onto the dog so you were straddling it and crush it's throat so it couldn't breath (or stab it in the gut, etc...). Maybe one of you guys who's been attacked could give me some feedback about this.

Matt, I am equally interested in trying to figure out a way to stay on your feet if you are attacked by a powerful dog. Going to the ground is his game, and one I don't want to play!
 
While in the service in Vietnam I saw first hand what a German Shepherd did to two VC who were probing the outer wire. Two VC minus their throats earned Fido one half of a C ration.

If you think you can put down a determined 70+ pound dog you might want to think again. I did and I carry a .45.
