While we all have certain knives we will use with abandon, for those rough chores that we know the knife will handle, there are times when a delicate approach is needed, for those times I chose a more traditional folder to take care of them.

Rough- dpx hest fixed blade. Rat 1 in aus 8.

Delicate- SAK solo. SAK floral. Spyderco endura.

A nice tough steel for rough chores. A nice thin blade for the delicate chores. Having a thin blade makes precision cutting so much easier.

Rough, JK Knives mighty mouse.

Good stuff guys, while that AD10 I have in my initial posting is beastly, it has proven too large a folder for me to try and edc so off she goes on the sale section. So for the rough and tumble kind of things I'll resort to a small fixed blade instead but still use the Boker Congress for those finer type cuts.

The fixed blade I'd grab would be my EDC made by Nathan Carothers, which I do often carry in my work bag anyways but hard to put on the belt all the time.

rough: 9cr18mov 1/4" thick fixed blade, it's a beast and even prying has been no problem
delicate: leek in standard 14c28n sandvik

Rough work. Fixed: ESEE 3,4, or 6. Folder: Benchmade Adamas
Delicate work: Benchmade 710 Valet.

There are alot of great combos posted here!

This is what I've been trying out for the last week:

The Endura is the hard-use/food option, the Leatherman is the beater, and the Vic Classic is for the delicate/people friendly situations. In the past, I hated carrying more than one blade because it seemed too redundant. But now, this makes more sense and it's way more fun.
