As a way to give a little back for all of the knowledge, kindness and info from everyone and for making someone new to traditionals feel at home, I'm giving away a Rough Rider trapper.
I had planned doing something for my thousandth post but things didn't line up that way (close enough for government work though).

I wanted to give something back to my fellow members and I ended up with an extra of a knife that I don't forsee a need for a duplicate on and thought I could pass it on to someone who wants or needs it. I was lured in to traditionals by this very forum and now that I'm thouroughly hooked I can't imagine why I didn't like them before.

not having a lot of money for knives I tend to get Rough Riders and used knives off of the auction site once I've saved up a bit or birthday times comes along but I know there's some interest for them here and figured I'd give it a go with what I had.

I'd really like it to go to one of the following:

Someone who doesn't own a Rough Rider, Colt etc. and would like to try, regardless of how many other knives you own.
They are tough little workers and much better than what China on a blade used to mean.

Someone who can't afford to buy themselves too many knives and could genuinely use it.

But anyone that wants it is free to enter, no worries, just thought the above would be cool.

It's not ever been used that I can tell but got scuffed a bit in transit so it's broken in and should make a fine user.

About 4" long with yellow synthetic scales.

Pretty good fit and finish for the cost.

Just reply with "I'm in" to enter. Feel free to expound if you'd like just make sure to say that because I'll search the thread later for that text string to draw the winner.

Thanks everybody and I'll let this run for about a week or so.

I do have a Frost's Doctor's knife, but no RR.

You don't have a RR?! Not an entry please Neko, I just wanted to post to thank you for your kind gesture, and to wish everyone Good Luck

Not an entry Neko as I have several RR knives but just wanted to say thanks for such generosity.

I'm in! Don't have a RR, would love to try one. Thanks for the opportunity!

Very nice knife and a generous GAW.

Not an entry, since most of my knives are Rough Rider and related.

Good luck to all who enter, and congrats to the winner.

(that yellow trapper is on my want list, along with its cousin, the yellow moose)

I have yet to try a Rough Rider but would really like to as i here so much good about them. So please count me in and good luck to all who enter.

Jim

I'm in! I have no Rough Riders, Colts, etc., AND no trappers.

I'm in as well - I've had two RRs, one in which the back spring broke on the first opening (it was also packed full of brass shavings from the liners, but it didn't affect the function of the knife in the trash can), and the second with ridiculously thick grinds on all the blades, and one impossible to-get-to nail nick, one blade tip well above the frame of the knife, and bone covers peeling up on 3 out of 4 corners after a few days. So far, I'm definitely not a RR fan, but I'm still open to them as so many people have had great experiences, but so far I'm at a 100% lemon rate - it's hard to justify a RR over an Opinel at this point.

I'm in, I own a bulldog brand baby saddlehorn trapper ( which may have been made by RR )
But no actual rough rider knives yet, and I'm curious to see if their quality is as good as the bulldog brand that I have is.

Not an entry, as I already have a pretty good pile of RRs, including a couple of trappers. I am not even a particular fan of trappers (yet), I just like the sawcut bone finish, and the acorn shield on the Big Boy in smooth tobacco bone.

On second thought, I'm in. I have nothing in yellow from RR. I like my RRs as I like my Opinels and Moras; I am a cheapskate by necessity.

Not an entry as I have a bunch of RR's. But thank you for the generosity. I think RR's are great....especially for the price. In fact I have three sitting here in front of me on my office desk. A yellow Elephant's Toenail, a green bone Barlow, and a Colt Black Stag Bone Stockman (a chunky four blade four spring). And I love the yellow handles. Reminds me of a knife my Dad had back in the day.

 Not an entry. I have several RRs and have been satisfied with each one. Thanks for helping make this place a great place to hang out.

 Generous GAW, not an entry as I already have several RRs and Trappers (btw some came from GAWs...)

Not an entry, I've got my share of RRs and then some, so if you stumble across my post while picking a winner please continue looking. :D

Chiming in to thank you for your generosity and once again express my wonderment at how generous our little porch is.

I have yet to try a Rough Rider but would really like to as i here so much good about them. So please count me in and good luck to all who enter.

I'd like a chance to win. I have no Rough Riders, Colts, etc., AND no trappers.
Thanks for the great GAW and good luck to all!

I believe you two may want to edit your posts and include the words "I'm in" so you are not skipped over when Neko2 picks a winner!

Good luck to all entrants!
