I have been picking up a few Rough Rider knives lately to be able to compare them with other brands and have been very impressed to say the least!

My newest one came in the mail today.:) A Roughr Rider Apallosa bone Trapper. NICE, NICE, NICE!!

Here's the odd part. Inside the box along with the knife was a little warning label! What is this all about!? LOL! Has anyone else seen anything like this come along with their knives? What is it exactly I should be concerned about? :(

One last word..Please, do not make this post go political and get it removed. It was just humorous to see this label with my knife today and it made me laugh.:D Just wondering what it's all about and thought I'd share.

Probably has something to do with the chemicals used to treat the bone. Potassium permanganate, maybe?

Well, I guess as long as you don't eat it or use it as a chew toy, you're okay!:thumb up:

That's a very good looking knife, great bone.

I'll never knock RR's. I've seen my friend Chet abuse and torture them and they held up fine. He's one of those guys who Remington surveyed when they figured out a pocket knife only has a two year life span. With Chet on a worksite, that's about right.

I've never seen him break one, just wear out the blade sharpening it every night after stripping cable, and other hard stuff on worksites. Great knives for the $!!

I have seen the same warning on Gerber's knives . but not with rough riders before . just makes me wonder what California knows that the rest of the world doesn't :D

LOL!! I can hear the voice of my long departed mother...WASH YOUR HANDS!!!!!!

California related. I have two Chinese-made kettlebells and they had the same thing.
I've also seen it on painting tools that I know darn well don't have any of that in them (like a five-in-one...wood and steel, nothin' else).

nice knife. I had a similar warning when i bought a kettle bell with a vinyl cover on it. i think it is mainly to do with covering their backside. Nice knife though

Wow you can really see the scratches, drag lines and grind marks in these pics! YUCK!

I was about to say "hey be nice, guy didn't ask for a critique". Then I realized it's your knife :p.

Kinda loses power as a warning if folks are just used to seeing the label everywhere

The Rough Riders I've bought, 6 so far, all had cosmetic issues, and several had off centered blades with rub. I look at them as the modern cheap slipjoint company. Long ago there were companies making cheap slipjoints. I don't know how these compare but for $12 or so it's hard to complain too much.

😆haha my forklift at work has the same sticker label on it. Btw that's a great looking knife MTURBO.

I had the same warning label on a "No Soliciting" sign I bought for my front door several years ago.

Makes one wonder why people would go around licking "No Soliciting" signs.
