This is my first post here. I bought a rough rider stockman for use at work about a week ago and have to say i am shocked so far with it. For 10 bucks it seems to be a great knife. I have carried case and buck knives as am everyday knife for years. But for fiancial reasons have sold all but a couple of my knives that i kept that were gifts given to me. Ivealways hated the thought of a chinese knife in my pocket so it kills me to say this, but it seems likethis knife is on par with cv case knives that i have carried since i was 22 or so the first time i bought on. I cant afford a case jnife right now and needed an everday carry so i bought this one and have to say im really impressed with this knife. Any thoughts or opinions ?

Rough Rider and Colt knives are excellent. IMHO they are on a par with Case. I have several and carried several models. All have been quality made, excellent steel, take and hold a good edge. There is a forum post for them in the Traditional Knives forum.

I'll have to check it out thanks. They seem to take an edge well, factory edge seemed to be a little bit of an odd angle but other than that no complaints so far

I have an RR/Colt buying problem. I really like all the prolific designs they put out, and fairly good quality. Some of my favorites are the yellow delrin, sawcut bone, smooth white bone, and black stag bone (I think I have almost every model in the black stag bone). Oh, and the Stoneworx series. They make pretty shelf decorations. [emoji41]

I agree that the RR knives are on a par with Case. I have a few Case, but have been binging on Rough Riders. I may have just slipped out of pure user mode, because I have recently bought several knives in patterns I am unlikely to use, just because they were finished in saw cut bone, armor hide, or smooth tobacco bone.

Some of my first RRs had issues, but they seem to be getting better and better.
