So I'm starting to think of making a simple throwing knife for my first blade and cranked out a quick little drawing for critique.
(Sorry about the roughness. My freehand drawing skills aren't exactly prize worthy)
Blade: 4 in. Long, 1 in. wide, double edged
Handle: 3.5 in. Long, 1 in. Wide, probably cord wrapped with a rounded off bottom
Guard: .5 in. Long, 2 in. Wide, made of right triangles with the hypotenuse facing back toward the handle
Not 100% about the thickness, but I'm thinking something around 1/4 inch would do. As for the steel, since this will be my first I'm just going to use some scrap I find laying around so I don't burn money on something ill likely ruin.
Now I know that there's probably a ton of stuff wrong with this but hey, learning is mostly trial and error anyway.
