I'm really surprised to hear that the micarta separated. That substance is usually pretty tough.
I have a few BR's in Matte black also , but so far no issues.

Didn't just separate, the first inch or so of the handle broke off, the majority of the scales remained intact.

Definitely a flaw in the material and/or the assembly process. Good that those companies took care of you !

Very late photos showing the repaired Bravo 1. I had BRK at red liners in addition to the repair and it came out perfectly. I've had the knife back for years but finally posted pictures.
