anyone have any suggestions for roughing up the smooth carbon fiber slabs? tried some light sanding but was afraid to go too far. looking for some tried and true suggestions - thanks CB

Wear a respirator and work outdoors/in a well ventilated room.
Carbon fiber will ruin your lungs, don't breath in any of the dust.

If you are taking proper safety measures, sanding can only do so much, if you want texture like regular Spyderco G-10 you need a CNC machine.

Some light sanding might help hide scratches though.

I like the looks of CF. You COULD cut texture into it, but that will destroy the beautiful patterns. CF is very expensive, I don't do any more than satin finish it.

i do love how it looks but its sooo slick. its on my harpy that i carry iwb for last ditch self defense.

I would get a Tasman Salt and carry that IWB, rather than your fancy Harpy. It's much grippier, totally corrosion resistant, and has an almost identical blade profile. And for around $50, you can keep the original finish on your Harpy.

How did you satin finish the CF?
Question!
Any way to dull a slick CF finish - "chemically", with a mild corrosive substance?
