Round handle

If i have 3/16 thick steel. How thick should i make the scales to get a round handle in the end.

Half tang height -3/32 (.09375) per scale.

Are you sure you want a round handle? Round makes it hard to index and know exactly where the cutting is at all times no matter how you are holding it.

Most of my scales are 1/4 inch and i only seem to be able to get an oval. Is it that i stop too soon or the scale isnt thick enough

Why would you want a round handle?

Draw a rectangle the dimensions of the tang, say 3/16 x 3/4, take a compass and draw your circle to fit.
