Round House "Lorien Design"

Lorien & Bing,

What a pleasure to meet you both at the Blade Show this year, you made me feel as if we have been long time friends. Thank you both!

Your Collaboration is striking in every detail, would love to check it out!

Steve, thanks it was great to meet and visit with you as well.

Bing and I have 3 patterns that have seen light of day, (thanks Bing!!!).

The first was the Bingalor, which I designed specifically for Bing based on his approach to design. You could say that it leaned on his Chiron pattern for inspiration.

The second was the Icarus, which I designed on my own in an attempt to incorporate as many contemporary design elements as I could without getting ridiculous. Bing named that one.

The third was the Roundhouse, which had initially been a project intended to be seen through by John W. Smith, whose current reality took him out of the picture. Fortunately, Bing dug it enough to see it through and I'm glad he did since I think of it as one of my best patterns so far.

All three prototypes are pictured below in the sequence that they were described in.

All three knives see regular use, and the feedback I get from using them is critical for the development and refinement of their patterns, and also to inform future design development. Speaking of which, expect to see a new Bing/Loriendesign folder in a knife forum near you ;)

Lorien, Thank you for posting all three up to view together. A true testament of a knife is not only how it looks but also how it feels and performs. IMHO. Having Lorien not only design but testing these tells us if we are on the right track.

Thanks everyone for allowing us to bring these to life.

Bing

The polished hamon on that Icarus just makes me giddy............ :D
