Round Yorkshire With A Knife: The Wizard's Quest Part 20 - There's No Place Like Home

I was going to speculate on the derivation of "punter", but such speculations are hard to justify when the search button is right here in my face.
Congarats to Jack and Meakko.
I have every confidence that Jack's hunt for points and pints will continue.

Jack,
CONGRATULATIONS ON THE COMPLETION OF YOUR QUEST.
The knife looks PERFECT for the part and probably has some neat history behind it.
Thank You for keeping us entertained on a regular basis with history, photos of Your beautiful countryside and Your VIVID STORIES.
JOB WELL DONE.

Meako,
Enjoy The Holy Grail Knife for Many Years.

Well done mate ! A tour de force completed with excellence. Wrap that thing up well for putting in the post.
I look forward to our next meet.

Congratulations Jack on completing your quest, it made for some entertaining reading, and we all got to enjoy your beautiful pictures. I would also like to thank the Wizard (meako) for giving Jack the reason to post so many excellent chapters of this adventure.

In Australia a punter is a betting man or more colloquially a customer -basically someone from whom money is removed;)
Thanks all for the kind words.
Jack if I was you I'd wrap it in paper and bind the whole thing in gaffer tape and box that sucker up .I know its no good arguing with you but at least let me spring for expensive postage or such like.
Cheers.

Outstanding! Well done, Jack Black. Everything from your excellent photos, to the wonderful write ups, to the introduction to the culture and history of the UK--amazing. Thanks for the wonderful journey and sharing it along the way. I hope the you find other ways to continue your wanderings and insightful photo essays!

It's a wonderful completion to an epic quest. Very well done Jack. I have enjoyed each installment, even if my poor Internet connection has kept me from commenting on them all. Congratulations meako. Thank you both for letting me tag along vicariously.

Chris

Sincere thanks for your very generous words my friends, which mean a lot to me :)

What a great looking piece of steel Jack! Awesome find  Any idea as to the age of it?

Any idea of the age of the quest knife?

I'm afraid that I haven't turned much up so far. JACK Adams is Sheffield's oldest working grinder, but I don't even know if there's a connection.

This one is on me mate - one day I'll come knocking on your door for a favour like Don Corleone! ;) :D the blade is wrapped in thick cardboard and gaffer tape with bubble-wrap around the handle. I very much hope it reaches you in one piece, but reckon that old knife has probably survived worse! :)

A great novel you have written for us my friend! It was wonderful getting the local history lesson and meeting your "friends" along the way! Especially the stories of the ones that are a bit more- eccentric, shall we say! Congratulations on the wonderful find!!

The quest has affected us all for the better my friend...

Thank you!!! :)

And if I may slant a quote from "Ride the High Country" (1962) "...enter into your house justified" and have a pint Jack!

it's been great to watch it unfold, thanks for the the hard work, laughs and giggles and all,

congrats to the wizard to :)

Jack,

It is just my luck that I come upon these threads even as the Quest ends. But a classic tale lasts forever, so I trust a latecomer can be admitted.

I just read Part 1 and aim to continue with all chapters. Even knowing the ending in advance won't take away from great reading like this!

Cheers and congratulations,
