I have been eyeballing the big Blu rounding hammers for a little while and I'm wondering if any of you guys have one and what weight you have. Thy have 3 rounding hammers but I can't settle one one. My wife wanted birthday ideas for my so I told her a new hammer. Just thought I would get some feed back from you guys. I have a rounding hammer I made out of a big ball peen and I really like it but I don't really care for the fact that's it's just s rounding hammer. I would like a flat and round on the same hammer.
Thanks guys.

I don't know about the big blu but I turned a 3# sledge into one by rounding off one side and I go between that and a 4# sledge for most of my forging (do more general blacksmithing than knife making). The rounding hammer (a little less than 3# now) is what I use for knife making.

We have had a couple big blu hofi style cross peens for about 5-6 years..The 3 1/2# has been used almost every day since we got it. We sold the 2# not because it wasn't a good hammer, it was. just to small for our needs.. Good hammer, very well balanced..Thier rounding hammers Ive never used. I have have used a rounding hammer for a long time but we make our own now..I do know a couple smiths that use big blu rounding hammers and they like them..
I know they have a couple styles of rounding hammers..What weight are you looking at getting?
