Rounding the edge/choil of pm2 scales?

I love my PM2's, however I love my Stretch 2's even more simply because they have the choil and area right below the choil smoothed and rounded out. For how I use my knives this makes a huge difference in comfort, especially when using it for long periods. Has anyone tried using a dremel/files/sandpaper/et and manually rounded off those areas on a g10 pm2? If so where you happy with the result? I would pefer this to spending what basically equals an entire knife on scales that have this feature already.

I used to sand(round the edges ) the G10 on all my user PM2 and Para 3s, before going down the custom scale route. I shaped them with different grits of sandpaper with most not taking much time.

Did you have better results taking the scales off and clamping them or doing it with the knife still intact?

With the scales off free hand! Most of the sanding was on the outside to chamfer but also touched inside slightly to “knock” down the edge!

Good point! I use a respirator and even change clothes and shower afterwards , as the dust can accumulate and spread.

DA170 DA170 C co556guy Thanks for the vote of confidence. I took the dremel to them earlier and the results were great. Could have definitely spent a bit more time making them look prettier but these are both users (one is over 10 years old and pretty beat up already) so comfort is all I care about. Basically just copied the Stretch 2, and re-dyed the salt pm2 red to make it a bit nicer looking after grinding. I swear I have been using the pm2 design for over a decade and it feels like a completely new know. SO much better.
