royal kami dui chirra ????

GUys somethign about that isn't right...

He's using Bill's description right off the website to decribe that kuk?

It doesn't look like the ones on the site though?

What's the deal?

Shane

Yes - it is Bill's description being used to sell a tourist piece. :grumpy:

We should all bombard the seller with polite questions.....:D

(it's posted on the auction - so I'm not "revealing" anything by displaying it here)

friendly email sent. ;)

If it's from BirGorkha it's not from Dharan.

Could this be an HI khukuri being resold by the original owner?

His 100% feedback is, with one exception, from sellers, not buyers, so he really has no track-record as a seller.

Has anybody ever seen an HI Kothimoda with brass fittings and black horn handle. The only ones I've see had silver fittings with a white horn /antler handle. PS friendly email sent too.

That khukuri isn't even a Dui Chirra; it looks to be a WWII model paired with a fancy scabbard. I'd guess that this is a Khukuri House Kothimoda. Believe me, if that was the HI model he'd be selling it for a lot more than $70.00.

Email soon to be sent.

My question and his reply.

I asked:
"I was just wondering if you posted the correct picture with this auction? The khukuri isn't a dui chirra (which means 2 fullers) and it is brass mounted rather than silver. Wrong picture, or wrong description? The whole thing looks like nothing I've ever seen from BirGorka (Himalayan Imports) Thanks,"

SORRY ABOUT THAT.THIS KHUKURI isn't a dui chirra.THIS KHUKURI WAS HAND MADE IN DHARAN(EASTERN NEPAL) BY ROYAL KAMI.

My question and the reply.

"Hello. Is this a Himalayan imports khukuri manufactured in their Bir Gorkha facility? Bir Gorkha is not in Dharan. I'm a little confused by the listing. You mention the khukuri was made by the royal kami. Do you know his name? I was under the impression the royal kami worked at BirGorkha. Most of the text of the listing appears to have come from the Himalayan Imports website. Thank you."

He must mean the other royal kami
Given what we've heard about the ego of kami's, there may be a lot of royal kamis, just like there are a lot of "best kami in Nepal."

It looks like the seller revised his description to eliminate references to Bir Gorkha and dui chirra.
