The post speaks for itself. Does anyone have any experience with this knife? Any input would be appreciated.

I just sold mine to a colleague, but only because it was a little big for my tastes. My colleague LOVES it. I thought it was great too. Surprisingly good handle ergonomics. Very comfortable to hold. The blade ergos are pretty good too. Decently strong point (this was a clip). Honestly, the asthetics of this knife, with the exceptional fit and finish, are amazing.

I am thinking of getting a mini...

Hope this helps,

Clay

Ooops, wanted to mention my only dislike -- the clip. It contrsts too much with the body of the knife and it causes the knife to stick out too much, IMHO.

Still overall, this is an excellent knife. And I don't like liner locks!

Clay

PS I couldn't get the lock to fail by any of the standard methods, BTW.

Every bit of my Socom screams quality--fit, design, aesthetics, stregnth. It is without doubt one of the highest quality production knives you can find out there. It is a knife you will never get bored of looking at; the attention to detail...Only problem is that my blade is just a tad off-center. Otherwise, you can't top the Socom's proven design.

As for the clip, the new C-clip is nice but I don't really care much for it as it is too precious for me to carry.

I just acquired a large black blade SOCOM and a small grey blade SOCOM for 160.00 and 120.00 respectively (new) at a gun/knife show in Charlotte. Both are excellent knives. I owned an early Tanto SOCOM, (with the really low clip) #278. The quality of the newer knives is as good or better than that of the originals. The clip point is much more useful than the tanto, although the tanto is really unique with its myriad of grind lines. They are extremely strong and the lock-up is excellent, better than the originals. I personally prefer the newer "c" clip. The SOCOM is probably the closest you can get to a custom folder in a production knife. A great slice for the buck! Buy as many as you can!

Great knife!!!! You can't go wrong if you buy one!! I hd a little accident which effectively ruined my 'new, low riding' clip. I couldn't manage to get it completely bent back to its original state, and now I carry it in its sheath. That works great too. You can click on my web page below for my impressions on the Socom and Mini Socom.(shameless plug

This is the highest-quality knife I have ever held in my hands. Every dealer I spoke with said they would take a MicroTech over any other knife and now I know why. It is extremely strong (and I am still suspicious of liner-locks) and aesthetically pleasing. The only problem is that I don't want to wear it because it is too beautiful.
