Butch is just hiding in his workshop in back of his house tonight so he won't have to hand candy out the FRONT door to kids... :D

Hey Butch,

I really like your RR spike knives. They're very unique. I wanted to ask you though.

How are they to hold in your hand and use for any length of time?

I really can't say, I haven't used one for a long length of time, but the handle is more comfortable than it looks:thumbup:Thanks Butch

I think someone mentioned in another thread...but I find myself holding these thinking "budget wilderness knife" and wondering about trying a cord wrap handle. I hope that don't offend Butch, who (I know) appreciates the railroad heritage, and goes to some length to PRESERVE the "character" of the spike in the handle area to be SEEN... The balance is surprising in the ones I've held...

It's great to use for any length of time, provided you don't have huge hands (mine are large, but not like XXL). I used it for over an hour to break down some boxes. Felt great, and the edge held, even though I put a new one on as soon as I got home.

I feel you're right (David) in the line of thinking that this is a "budget" wilderness knife. It's definetly not one I'd mind getting all messy and bashed. (Not that I would Butch.... ;) )

$65? Price jump there? :)

I really like this one, the SB finish looks really good.

OK, I'm convinced. I'll take this one, if it's still available.

Let me know Butch and I'll send you the money ASAP.

Thanks.

Hi Mark,
Good to see you posting again & nice grab on this one. I have one of these from Butch (& S. Willis) & although I haven't used either one extensively, I don't think the comfort factor will be an issue for you.
Like you said, they are unique & IMHO, the cool factor make these a winner. That's what did it for me & I think you'll be happy with it.
Hope all is well at your end. Take care.
