Hello,
Here is another forged blade........this one is from a HC (high carbon) Railroad Spike. This one is left rough forged, flat ground blade with a twist......
The twisted handle has no rough areas but is not intended for extended use due to a steel handle like all knives made from this material. The material is around 1050 to 1060 tool steel which is barely enough to maintain a hardened edge.
Don't let this deter you though, this is functional enough to use in the woods...........
measurements:
overall: 8"
handle to choil: 4 1/2"
cutting edge: 3 1/8"
Cost: $45 w/o sheath........add $25 for sheath. delivered in the US price
FYI......I also make spoons and forks from spikes too for you hardcore woodsman eaters............
