Is Livesay making knives again? I know he had some bad health problems a while back and he fell behind on orders. I have a an original as well...good blade.

Nice. The original by Newt is awesome. I had one of his HKR's which looks sort of like a smaller version. I love the wide blade on that one.

I do not know anything about Newt's health or making of blades...I picked this up on the Exchange.....I have been hunting one for sometime, for a decent price.....is the key for me... it seems to have a factory edge or sharpend very little and is pretty freaking sharp...I am very pleased with it...

very nice indeed... nice score..

i have always been a fan of newt work...

Nice blade. I have a few of Newt's neckers. I've carried my NRGS alot, great knife. I'd love to have an original RTAK though it would be hard to take out in the bush. Are you planning to use it or is it part of the collection? Mac

That's an awesome knife, Tony. I have the Ontario RTAK and RTAK II, and I like them both. But a real Livesay RTAK is very special. Congrats on a great score.

Good find! I picked one up aroumd 98' or so. Still have it, along with a Bow Huntin' Buddy neck knife.

That mircata looks really nice. I also love the looks of that sheath. You can do some hurricane proof lashing on that thing. Great score!

If Newt Livesay is making knives again, I would like to know. Several years back, I was in contact with him and ordered a knife, sent my money, and never received anything in return (knife or money), even after phone calls and emails. I had "written it off" but would like resolution, if he's healthy and back in business.

I just tried emailing Mr. Livesay several times (to the address listed on his website), and it was returned saying his email box is currently over quota, or that the address didn't exist(?). The knife I've had on order for over 3 years is one of his Model 117's. I would really like to finally get it. If anyone has another way of reaching Mr. Livesay, please let me know!

Thanks,
Ron
